New Music "I Believe" by Carl Merenick
"I Believe" by Carl Merenick is a great song! It's ideal for the season and beyond. Listening to "I Believe" can bring one to a place of comfort. The song has contemporary, R&B, and Pop sounds all in one. The music production is great because Carl Merenick's voice was in sync with the beat. The mixing of the song was excellent.
As Carl Merenick is not just a performer, he would be an excellent artist to work with as a composer and producer. Overall "I Believe" should be of everyone's collection.
Carl Merenick is a Kingston, Ontario Canada based musician. He started loving music at the age of four. Carl learned and enjoy discovering different elements of music. Therefore, he started making melodies, then he moved to recording, performances, teaching, writing, and producing music. He has written for some of the best musicians and singers in the world.
Beyond writing to the artist he has a client list within radio, television, and film. He plays the keyboard in the band river city Junction. But for now, listen to Carl Merenick's new song below called "I Believe" and enjoy!
Question and Answer:
How did you start in the music business? I traveled to Europe, England, and South Africa as a performing studio recording musician.
How would you describe the music that you typically create? Punchy, Cerebral, hooky, and calculated arrangements.
What is the current project about?
I Believe (Remix) is about lost love and trying to regain love by collecting the good pieces of love and putting them back together.
How do you feel it will inspire others? I hope my listeners will be inspired to carry on with new ideas and belief in themselves to love.
What is your creative process like? My goto is most definitely the music element of a song. I create a musical groove/feel and then listen to how it speaks to me.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Possibly Adele, Charlie Puth, or a rapper.
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
Adele
What is one message you would give to your fans?
If you have breath and life, then you have hope.
What is the most useless talent you have? Playing Tennis!
Do you sing in the shower? What songs? What would you be doing right now, if it wasn't for your music career?
Retro songs - Steve Winwood. - Can't Find My Way Home, Crazy - Gnarls Barkley - Sara Smile, You Make My Dreams Come True - Hall and Oates.
Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? I've performed at festivals in front of thousands of listeners and in small/intimate clubs and theatres. I love the intimate settings.
Do you have any upcoming shows? Two shows - December 10th and 11th, 2021.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business? The internet has allowed everyone to showcase their creative ability to a larger audience. There is still the challenge of finding one's audience.
What is your favorite song to perform? sIn terms of my composition: I Believe. In terms of covering a song I would have to choose, Can't Find My Way Home.
Which famous musicians do you admire? Sting, Steely Dan, Chick Corea, and Brand New Heavies.
What is the most trouble you've ever gotten into? I was 12 years old and I stole a nice shiny lighter from a store. I was caught and my parents were told that there were consequences to face. For every action, there's a reaction.
What is the best advice you've been given? Slow down and think about your response.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be? I would lobby for a change in song representation. If someone or some company believes in your song, they shouldn't charge you to plug that song, otherwise, it smells of "payola". When the song succeeds, everyone succeeds.
What's next? Composing, recording, performing, and living my life. That is amazing to me.
What should the world know?
Don't try to be famous. Find your space and truly discover your gift and work at it each day with diligence and responsibility. If you can make a living with your gift, then WOW! Connect with your people and let them know you love them and care for them. The more you think about yourself, the less you think about them. Giving is the best healer.
