Who is Tequilarobb?

How did you start in the music business? I started out doing local rap contests in Texas and then stopped for a bit. I did a rap battle in Ohio and got second place a few years back. Then when I moved to Denver I decided to finally begin making some music and have made about 24 songs so far and have way more to come.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I started making music about anything for my first ten songs. Then, after that, I decided I was determined to create songs that talk about the human emotions we all experience through. This is whether the feeling is happy, sad, angry, depressed, or feeling dead inside.

What is the current project about?

The album I’m working on now is pretty upbeat and has songs dealing with overdoses, human emotions, religion, and just stories of being alive and lucky.

How do you feel it will inspire others?

I hope my music will help others realize that life is tough and it sucks sometimes. However, we should be helping the world and not destroying the world and relationships.

What is your creative process like?

I like to be relaxed and take inspiration from songs.
Movies, video games, and things like that. I also read a lot and then think of concepts and put that into rhymes when I can.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Hmmmm probably NF or Macklemore would be dope, and Kesha cuz she's hella talented at singing and we’d make a dope song together.

If you had the opportunity to open a show for any artist who would it be?
Eminem would be amazing or Lil Wayne.

What is one message you would give to your fans?
Live life and create art and make the world better by being better and helping others become better people. Try and find what makes you happy and believe in yourself, not because I believe in you.

What is the most useless talent you have?
I’m decent at the hacky sack and Halo.

Do you sing in the shower?
What songs? What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
I sing rarely in the shower but might sing over songs I'm working on, or if a song is stuck in my head.

Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
I’ve performed in random bars and freestyled at frat parties, rap battles, and at local competitions. My favorite venue was Club Cream where I did a rap battle a long time ago and got second place.

Do you have any upcoming shows?
No shows yet, but we will drop some songs soon and create another album.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
Good in ways to get more fans, harder to make money for artists in other ways like streaming instead of buying CDs for example.

What is your favorite song to perform?
I love the song 20th Century Ass or Loss of Myself.

What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
Most trouble is between detention and being confined Im so glad the cops didn’t see this or else I’d be in deep shit.

What is the most valuable advice you’ve been given?
Don’t limit yourself to who you are now, because you can be anything and achieve anything if you believe in yourself and put in the work. Enjoy life especially the good times so you can remember them in the bad times.

What’s next?
Another album and hopefully get signed to an independent record label.

What should the world know?
You should know you have a purpose and are worthy of love and happiness. I hope you know that dogs are truly the most loyal companions in the world. We win by changing the world we live in by loving others and helping others. Success should be judged by the amount of love you have and not money.
