New Single “BlackBirds” Drops Today!
Sung by South African singer, Esté Los Angeles, CA: A passionate song about a woman scorned, BlackBirds, has its roots in the #metoo movement. Written by a long time, Los Angeles real estate broker, the song has an interesting United Nations kind of background.
The songwriter, Robert Boog is a real estate broker, author and amateur songwriter who lives one hour north of Los Angeles. “He writes songs as a hobby but he doesn’t sing any of them because he prefers to write. In fact, his wife claims that when he sings he sounds like a drunken Bob Dylan who still insists he’s okay to drive. He has been dabbling in songwriting since 2007 when he left a lined, yellow pad at a Starbucks and the barista told him she liked his song. He didn’t even know it was a song.”
He has written for JaLuvdaPrince, Chris Davidson, 13beatz, Calisto, and JMartin to name a few of his roster list.
•He wrote the lyrics one rainy day here in Los Angeles and sent it to a friend in New York who liked it and suggested a singer, Esté who lives in South Africa.
• He emailed the lyrics (with Robert singing them badly) on an MP3 to a friend Angus, a guitar player, who lives in Manchester, England.
• Angus sent back the backing track, which he then sent along with the lyrics to Esté who said she liked it and agreed to sing it.
• The track was then sent to Omri Cohen in Tel Aviv, Israel for mastering. Omri won the MTV Europe award for sound production.
