5 Tips for Running a Successful Local Music Promotion

Know Your Audience.

Start Small.
If you’re looking to start promoting your band, there are some things you should consider before jumping into a full-blown campaign. First, make sure you have a solid plan for how you will promote your music. You need to decide what type of promotions you will do (i.e., social media, email blasts, etc.) and when you will do them. Second, you need to determine whether you will use paid advertising or free methods to promote your music. Paid ads are more effective than free ones because they allow you to reach people who might not otherwise hear about your music. Third, you need to think about where you will host your promotional events. Will you hold them at your own venue? Or will you partner with another business? Fourth, you need to figure out how much money you will spend on each promotion. This includes both the cost of hosting an event and the cost of promoting your music. Finally, you need to determine how often you will promote your music and how long you will keep doing so.
