Who is Ray-Eye

RAY-EYE is the professional name of veteran independent hip-hop artist and multi-instrumentalist producer Raymond Jackson Jr. The Gary, Indiana native has been making records for 15 years. He made his wide distribution debut in 2018 with the 7-song collection Full Swing. That record introduced a skilled emcee and talented producer with a creative style and an old-school feel.

Since Full Swing, the prolific producer has released a total of four albums and a handful of singles. He has connected with hip-hop fans worldwide with hits like “Infinity” and "Luv Land Bounce”. From his ILL DUST ENTERTAINMENT studios, Ray creates a classic hip-hop vibe with a mix of live instrumentation, beats, and samples.

“Dittle ” is the brand new single from RAY-EYE’s recent album Constipation, available worldwide via all major streaming services. On the track, a funky bass and piano riff rides an upbeat hip-hop groove. Pizzicato keys add a sense of urgency as Jackson steps to the mic and delivers a smart, rapid-fire freestyle. It’s a gorgeous sound that pairs Golden Age style with modern production techniques.

How did you get started in the music business?

Started business five years ago

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Making beats and creating songs. My music is worldwide hip-hop. I have no boundaries when it comes to style.

What is the current project about?

 The current project is called Dittle. An upbeat and energetic track with strong lyrics.

How do you feel it will inspire others?

It will inspire others to be themselves and push full force with your goals

What is your creative process like?

The creative process is I feel the music first then create lyrics once I hear the track directions

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Open to any collaboration  

If you were given the opportunity to open a show for any artist who would it be?

Opening a show for any hip-hop artist would be outstanding. Specifically Jay Z or Nas

What is one message you would give to your fans?

One message. Never give up

What is the most useless talent you have?  

Useless? Being a high-note singer

Do you sing in the shower? What songs? What would you be doing right now if it wasn’t for your music career?

No singing in the shower. If not music probably basketball. 

Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues?

Performances include the city festival. Less favorite venues? Probably a wedding.

Never gotten into trouble. Stay on the right path. Nothing big.

Best advice. Keep God first
