Jussie Smollett charged for Lying about the attack

Chicago Cook County prosecutors charged the TV star Jussie Smollett who acts on "Empire". On Wednesday his fake allegations he staged as a hate crime against himself — capping a tumultuous series of turns in a case that has garnered worldwide headlines.

Smollett is expected to appear in bond court Today (2/22/19). Chicago Police expect Smollett and his legal team to arrange the actor’s surrender ahead of his bond hearing.

This type of charge can gain Jussie Smollett up to three years in Jail. But due to the fact that it's staged against himself, they may just give him probation.

This act by Smollett is disturbing and disappointing. He had everyone believing the hate crime happened. So far it has not affected him working for 20 Century Fox, though they have cut his scene from nine to four on the show "Empire".
