How did you start in the music business?
It started for me to be a music lover and listener at the age of 4. As I grew older, my passion for music led me to explore various instruments and genres. I began taking music lessons and participating in local competitions and performances. Eventually, I started networking with other musicians and industry professionals, which opened doors to opportunities such as recording sessions, collaborations, and eventually, a career in the music business. I heard music on the radio in the car and loved it! I was then hooked and it progressed over the years to where I am today.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
The music I typically create is a fusion of various genres that have influenced me throughout my life. From classical compositions to modern pop and rock, I draw inspiration from a wide range of artists and styles. This eclectic mix allows me to create unique and diverse compositions that reflect my musical journey and personal experiences.
What is the current project about?
I plan on releasing a new single called Love Me Tonight on July 1st this year along with 2 other single releases in 2024.
How do you feel it will inspire others?
It should inspire people who love rock music!
What is your creative process like?
I start by writing a melody on my acoustic guitar or keyboard and then add lyrics once the music is there.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga.
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
Pearl Jam
What is one message you would give to your fans?
On my Facebook page, I wrote “Music will open doors to new worlds and liberate your mind and soul”.
What is the most useless talent you have?
The ability to remember useless information I can recall from years ago,
Do you sing in the shower?
Yes, what songs? All kinds of songs and sometimes new originals happen there too.
What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
I am a dad and that is a great joy in my life!
Where have you performed?
I have performed in Austin Texas, Boston, MA, and NYC.
What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
My favorite venue was an outdoor show at the original Woodstock Yasgur’s Farm location. There have been many bars that I did not care to perform at.
Do you have any upcoming shows?
At the moment I am just recording new music.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
I hate how little you get paid for people purchasing, downloading, and streaming your music today!

What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
In my youth lots of dumb stuff with my moron friends lol

Treat other people how you want to be treated!
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
To have more outlets like Longe Magazine promote independent artists to mainstream radio. It is tiring hearing the same songs played over and over on mainstream radio. There are a bunch of Indie artists who have music that is better than what is on the radio!

In 2024 new music single releases and a new album are on the horizon.
What should the world know?
PLANET NORRIS will keep on writing and recording new music. That's what I do!
Scott Norris BIO:
Scott Norris also known as PLANET NORRIS is a talented multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger, and producer of original music. Scott has been playing music, playing gigs, and writing songs since 1997. Scott played in cover bands in his younger days playing gigs around CT, MA, and NY. Scott’s passion was always writing and want to create his music which led to the birth of his recording studio project called PLANET NORRIS.
PLANET NORRIS is the name Scott uses for his recording band which always includes Tim Maynard as a main and lead guitar player as well. Scott also plays guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards in the writing process and recording process. PLANET NORRIS released a debut album in 2015 which led to selling out its original CD production. Songs on that release have won awards, been featured on internet radio stations, and include many different singers besides Scott. The 2015 PLANET NORRIS release called “Live My Life My Way” is available on all music streaming outlets such as Spotify, Amazon, and many others.
Planet Norris released a follow-up single in 2018 called Thump & Bump. The music, melody, and lyrics were all written by Scott, which holds for all of the PLANET NORRIS songs. Scott worked with Heather Gayle also known as 1Luv to sing Thump & Bump, which made for a creative, soulful, and dance-pop song with a club vibe! Scott found Heather to sing the pop track because she is fantastic and was also a top 10 finalist on both The Voice and American Idol.
In 2019 PLANET NORRIS released the country boogie single Let’s Live for the Weekend. This production was a collaboration with a top Nashville recording studio using highly sought-after veteran studio session musicians. Scott got the opportunity to work with Brent Mason who played guitar on this song. Brent who is a 14-time Grammy Award-winning CMA, is in the Country Music Hall of Fame, and Guitar World Magazine ranked Brent as one of the “Top Ten Session Guitarists of All Time”. In addition to Brent, many other fantastic musicians played on this PLANET NORRIS song Let’s Live for the Weekend.
PLANET NORRIS has had a 5-year recording lapse but has been busy writing songs these past few years. The next PLANET NORRIS release called “Love Me Tonight” will be dropped on July 1 2024 this year. Love Me Tonight is a hard rock song similar to Led Zeppelin or Guns & Roses music. There will be 2 more follow-up singles released in 2024 and a new album sometime on the horizon. PLANET NORRIS also just started releasing original music videos on YouTube in 2024. PLANET NORRIS will continue to write and record Scott’s music for as long as he can because this is what Scott’s passion and love in life is, MUSIC!
