OUR MISSION :

The Longe Magazine was created for today's avid and trendy reader looking for the inside track in business, finance, entertainment and fashion. Unlike other magazine companies that use manipulative tactics to attract their readers, who are then left sorely disappointed for not receiving their money's worth of information, Longe sets out to create a magazine focusing on the reader's craving for an informative source that provides a clear direction, resources and testimonies from entrepreneurs while simultaneously not having the stylistic tone of a lecture. Moreover, the information provided in the magazine would be easily applicable to the real world as the reader takes on the challenging yet rewarding task of starting a business.

Longe Magazine is a dynamic reading piece that covers the essential details of how a business becomes successful. It will enlighten aspiring entrepreneurs with information on business structures and operations for the corporate, entertainment and fashion world. Its purpose is not only to provide success stories about businesses, but also to help create the future success stories for others.

OUR VISION :

To create a master reading piece that can become the manual for an individual who needs the push to start his or her own business. Furthermore, to enhance the knowledge of those who already own a business and need some insight on what can potential benefit or harm their business.

Why do we teach young girls etiquette?

Today we live in a “survival of the fittest” type of society. Competition is evident in every aspect of life ranging from the school setting to the professional setting. Unfortunately, due to negative media images and stereotypes of women, many young girls are not taught how to behave in a lady-like manner. They are also not being challenged to dream big and step outside of the conformists of what they see on television.

We strive to start preparing young ladies early so that good habits can be established and a strong foundation can be in place as they develop into women. We need our young girls to realize that in their future, their etiquette skills will be equated to their competence.

What are the advantages to girl’s parents?
Positive social skills strengthen the family as a whole. These social skills contribute to civility in the home. In addition, etiquette boosts children’s self esteem and their character which can open doors for them in their future.

What are the advantages to schools?

Etiquette encourages children to be considerate of one another. This leads to more positive communication between students. Etiquette also reduces the incidents of impoliteness. Teachers can then spend more time teaching students rather than disciplining them. In addition, character building takes place when children learn etiquette which stimulates a positive climate and could possibly raise academic standards in the classroom.

Bridgeport Connecticut seeing a different side of philanthropy! A free “Thanksgiving Day Dinner” with the best accommodations for the Community.

Longe Magazine believes when you’re doing something it must be done right and with class. The Free Thanksgiving Day dinner that is open to everyone in the greater Fairfield County is more of an event and not a charity. Longe & the Power of Five productions wants those that do not have for this day, to come and give thanksgiving with “A” Class accommodations.

On November 24, 2011, Longe Magazine (http://www.longemagazine.com) has teamed up with the Power of Five Productions (http://www.pofive.org) to host a Thanksgiving Day meal. This amazing production will be like none other hosted at the Cathedral of Faith Church of God located at 2319 Fairfield Ave Bridgeport Connecticut. Collaborative, the united team reached out to the community leaders and shelters to spread the word in order to have a successful day in helping others. Special thanks to Pastor John Diamond, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Prospect House, Operation Hope, CT News 12, LT. David Daniels and all who has played a part in making this event come together. No Questions asked! If anyone needs to eat a great meal, simply stop by the Cathedral of Faith Church of God from 10:00AM-2:00PM on Thanksgiving Day which is Thursday, November 24, 2011.

Longe Magazine, Power of Five Productions & the Cathedral of Faith Church of God sees giving back as our essential duty as humans. Philanthropy should be a everyday event for those who can do it, but the reality is, lives takes over, therefore to give back one day out of 365 to help another human should be an easy thing to do. The definition of Philanthropy (etymologically) is "the love of humanity"—love in the sense of caring for, nourishing, developing, or enhancing; humanity in the sense of "what it is to be human," or "human potential. With some many millionaires in the United States, the outstanding amount of people that are homeless is shocking.

According to National Alliance to End Homelessness, the homeless population has increased by 20,000 people from 2008 to 2009 which is at 3% increase overall. Though many people who experiences homelessness are sheltered, status shows that nearly 4 in 10 live on the street, in a car, or in another place not intended for human habitation. In Connecticut Home for the Brave reports that “Veterans represents 20% of Connecticut’s chronic homeless population”.

The Institute for Children, Poverty & Homelessness shows that demographics of family homelessness in Connecticut are as followed: “sheltered adults in homeless families, an increase of 23% since 2009. Three-quarters (74%) of these adults were homeless in 2010 due to economic factors, such as rent difficulties, eviction, or foreclosure, and three-quarters (75%) were unemployed at the time of the count. Nearly half (46%) had never previously experienced homelessness, two-thirds (68%) had completed at least high school, and over half (61%) reported no mental health, substance abuse, or long-term medical issues. Over three-quarters (80%) had at least one source of income. More than four-fifths (84%) received food stamps and the vast majority (93%) had health insurance through free state programs, while approximately one-third (31%) of single mothers accessed Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.”

Statistics and happenings on homelessness in the nation, states and cities can go on forever, because it so much. Longe Magazine, Power of Five Productions, and Cathedral of Faith Church of God recognizes homelessness existence and wants to help in whatever way possible. If you’re in a great position simply donate food, volunteer or just do something that makes a difference.

If you’re are in need or know someone who needs a great meal on Thanksgiving Day, please do not hesitate to visit the Cathedral of Faith Church of God located at 2319 Fairfield Ave Bridgeport CT on Thursday, November 24, 2011 from 10:00AM-2:00PM for great meal. If additional information is required, contact Longe Magazine at 800.883.2157 or  email us.
